Dawn Becker

Dawn and Zarrah

Hi… my name is Dawn Becker. I live on a ranch in Ennis, Mt. that my husband, Jim manages. We have several horses and dogs that we are fortunate enough to be able to use here with the cattle. Every day we count our blessings to live in some of the most beautiful country God has created. I have always enjoyed working with animals, whether as a vet tech, ranch hand, raising/training border collies, or in my career as a farrier. And now as a SAR dog handler! But most of all, I am excited for this journey with Shekinah K-9, that the Lord has seen fit to use me as a vessel to spread the Gospel and glorify Him through our dog training. It would take so much more than a “brief bio” to tell you of my love of Christ and my personal relationship with Him. All I have, all I am, and all I hope to be, is because of a legacy of believers that have fostered a longing for God to be an integral part of my life.

In training our search dogs, we create a foundation that we rely on, despite what we may or may not visually see. This is so like a belief of faith in Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4: 18 says, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal!”

Note from Cris: Dawn ranches with her husband near Ennis, Montana. Although Dawn has been training search dogs for only four years she has trained cow dogs (border collies) for years. She has a gift for training and catches on very quickly. We have worked together extensively, in training, search incidents and seminars. She is very beneficial in assisting at HRD and trailing seminars. Her dog, Zarrah is certified in Trailing Level II and Cadaver Level II. I consider Dawn a huge asset as an assistant instructor. She is very good with seminar participants, easy to work with and is amazing at problem solving. She loves helping people improve their training skills.
